I am a freelance writer and film programmer based in London, UK. I graduated from Queen Mary University of London in 2016 with a first class degree in Film Studies, completing my dissertation on the topic of Alice Walker's Womanism and film.
My writing focuses on film, music, television and other aspects of pop culture, and the way in which these mediums intersect with race and gender. I also regularly write about the contributions of black women to film, romantic comedies, and (whenever people will let me) Channing Tatum. HOWEVER I am not limited to these topics and would relish commissions that take me out of my comfort zone and give me a chance me to write about something new (aka not about race, y'know).
I am also one of the founders of Reel Good Film Club, a film club that promotes racial diversity in film through non-profit and inclusive film screenings and events.
In my spare time I enjoy telling anyone who will listen that Ryan Gosling's character in La La Land is the worst, eating plantain and watching music videos - the latter two at the same time whenever possible.
